Speed friending: queer connection IRL

Pride season isn’t just about partying, it’s also about finding your community. That’s why red. and NYX Professional Makeup teamed up to create an event for those looking to connect, chat, and maybe even find a new friend.

Our Speed friending night at the Hoxton was designed with one simple goal: to turn strangers into friends. No pressure, no awkward silences - just a warm, inclusive space for queer people (and allies) to meet, laugh, and share stories. The guests consisted of brand fans, (NYX) make-up lovers and queer people open to making new connections, we reached them by a TikTok campaign with 5 different creators: Harléya Luya, Jerrel Baumann, Kimberley Asante, Tevin Themen and Thomas Drinkenburg.

Hosted by Jazzmin Nilsson, the evening kicked off with a series of playful games, icebreakers, and conversation starters. The energy in the room shifted from shy smiles to loud laughs in minutes, and by the end of the night, the tables were buzzing with new positive energy. Whether you came solo or with a friend, everyone left with a little more community than they walked in with.

We’re grateful to the Hoxton and Lotti's for providing the space, to Grey Goose for the drinks, and to everyone who showed up with an open heart. We see you, and we’re so glad you came.
