During WorldPride in Amsterdam, we partnered with NYX Professional Makeup to host "the Art of Drag," an intimate masterclass led by drag queen ChelseaBoy. Fifteen guests gathered to explore the craft behind the spectacle, diving deep into the makeup techniques required to create the ultimate drag beat. The day was filled with good vibes, expert tips, product access, and plenty of content-worthy moments.
Beyond the technical skills, the event also had an educational note, reflecting on what it truly means to express oneself freely. We screened a short documentary on a pivotal Black queer gender-bending artist whose work continues to inspire today, and who still supports the community through their royalties. It was a reminder that artistry and activism often go hand in hand.
This gathering wasn’t just about learning how to block out your brows, it was about celebrating positive visibility, and truly showing the art form that is drag. In an industry where queer voices are often marginalized, creating space for authentic expression is essential.
